Alors que Valls voulait réunir droite et gauche autour de son programme de stabilité, le vote a révélé que le gouvernement ne pouvait désormais plus compter sur une majorité réelle. Le pacte a bien été voté mais par 265 voix contre 232 avec 67 abstentions. Parmi le groupe socialiste, ce sont pas moins de 41 députés qui se sont abstenus de le voter. Malgré la langue de bois habituelle, c’est bien un camouflet pour le nouveau premier ministre qui voit la défiance s’installer dans son propre camp. Cela sonne comme un avertissement alors que selon les derniers sondages, le PS se prendrait une claque aux Européennes dans la région du Sud-Est
La question que peut se poser aujourd’hui le gouvernement, c’est sur quelle majorité peut-il compter au Parlement ? Ce n’est pas nouveau puisque depuis les élections législatives, la majorité n’a cessé de s’effriter. Il y a d’abord eu des élections législatives partielles puis les Verts qui sont devenus de plus en plus réticents. Le FDG est très vite passé dans l’opposition. Hollande avait déjà déclaré vouloir gouverner par décrets, pour accélérer les réformes et éviter ainsi le passage par le Parlement sur lequel il pouvait de moins en moins compter. Cela ne va pas s’arranger si le Sénat passe à droite en septembre prochain. Pourtant c’est dès le 5 mai 2012 au soir qu’il pouvait déjà se douter de cette possibilité au vu de la faiblesse de son propre résultat aux élections présidentielles !
