Ça y est : la mue est terminée. Le Front National est devenu officiellement le Rassemblement National. A l’issue d’un conseil national élargi du parti organisé à Lyon, la présidente du Front national a décrété, hier 1er juin 2018, le changement de nom du parti frontiste. 80,81% des participants ont opté pour cette mutation sur les 53% des adhérents du Front national qui ont participé au vote.
Marine Le Pen croit voir dans ce nouveau nom le sésame qui ouvrira les portes du pouvoir : « Le rassemblement des França is, c’est le cœur de notre engagement. Le nom de Rassemblement national sonne comme un cri de ralliement pour tous les Français qui ne veulent pas se résigner au goutte à goutte du déclin. » Évoquant un « pari osé » elle déclare en outre : « Je savais que je pouvais le prendre compte tenu de la maturité politique de nos adhérents (…) Ce nom s’impose de toute évidence, et il s’est largement imposé dans le cœur et dans l’esprit de nos adhérents », a-t-elle poursuivi. Et de conclure : « Je proclame donc officiellement que le Front national devient le Rassemblement national et j’invite tous les cadres à commencer une grande campagne d’adhésion ».
