Canada – Le film américain Unplanned, très efficace pour dégoûter les jeunes femmes de l’avortement, doit bientôt sortir dans les salles canadiennes. Le film sera projeté dans plus de 24 cinémas à partir du 12 juillet. Mais l’hostilité des partisans de la culture de mort est telle que le distributeur se prépare à d’éventuelles manifestations.
Ashley Bratcher joue le rôle d’une directrice d’un avortoir de Planned Parenthood au Texas, qui devient oratrice antiavortement après avoir vu « quelque chose qui a tout changé » pour elle. Le film Unplanned est basé sur un mémoire du même nom rédigé par la militante antiavortement Abby Johnson.
Aux États-Unis, les salles qui ont accepté de projeter le film ont fait salle comble.
Qu’en sera-t-il au Canada ? Certains freins sont placés pour limiter l’impact auprès du public cible. En Alberta, par exemple, le film Unplanned est classé « 14A » avec un avertissement de « contenu dérangeant » [sic… comme si l’avortement en soi n’était pas « dérangeant » !]. En Colombie-Britannique, le film est classé « PG » (Surveillance parentale conseillée). Au Québec, Unplanned devrait être classé « R ». Ce qui signifie qu’au Québec les jeunes filles peuvent se faire avorter gratuitement dès 14 ans sans l’autorisation des parents… mais que les moins de 18 ans n’ont pas accès à ce film !
Il a dit avoir senti l’obligation de contacter les producteurs américains de Unplanned pour distribuer le film au Canada après avoir été « agacé » par la « désinformation » en ligne sur le fait que le drame avait été interdit de diffusion au Canada.
