Les crèches de Noël sont également la cible des ayatollahs de la laïcité italiens.

« Interdire les crèches dans les lieux publics et les écoles au nom du respect des autres religions et au nom de la tolérance? C’est un concept détourné de ce qui est le respect et la tolérance. »,  a déclaré le cardinal italien Angelo Bagnasco, Archevêque de Gênes et président de la Conférence épiscopale italienne lors de la rencontre annuelle avec les journalistes. Il a également décrit comme «un acte de myopie culturelle» l’idée d’interdire les crèches dans les lieux publics ou les écoles.
