Lors de son voyages au Proche-Orient, le pape François a invité les présidents palestinien, Mahmoud Abbas, et israélien, Shimon Pérès, au Vatican pour une prière pour la paix :
« En ce lieu [de Bethléem], où est né le Prince de la paix, je désire adresser une invitation à vous, monsieur le président Mahmoud Abbas, et à monsieur le président Shimon Peres, pour faire monter ensemble avec moi une prière intense en invoquant de Dieu le don de la paix.
J’offre ma maison, au Vatican, pour accueillir cette rencontre de prière. Tous, nous désirons la paix. Beaucoup de personnes la construisent chaque jour par de petits gestes. Nombreux sont ceux qui souffrent et supportent patiemment les efforts de beaucoup de tentatives pour la construire »
Mais quel est le Dieu qui sera prié lors de cette rencontre ?
Celui de François, de Mahmoud Abbas ou de Shimon Peres ?
La guerre hélas ne date pas d’hier. Depuis que l’homme est blessé par le pêché originel, ses passions l’emmènent au conflit et à la destruction, juste conséquence du pêché.
Si l’initiative du Souverain Pontife peut sembler de bonne foi, elle se perd hélas dans les utopies d’un rêve relativiste, qui plus est condamné maintes et maintes fois par l’Eglise. Jamais comme avant on a voulu et appliqué le dialogue interreligieux, et pour autant, jamais la religion ne fut plus cause de conflit qu’aujourd’hui.
Si le prince de la Paix est né à Bethléem, jamais les peuples de la Terre ne sauraient trouver la paix en le rejetant. C’est le message le plus important, celui qui justifie même de l’existence de la charge de Pape. C’est ce message que n’a pas délivré François. C’est le contraire qu’implique cette nouvelle mascarade interreligieuse.
