Etats-Unis – Un projet de loi visant à rendre l’avortement illégal a été adopté par le sénat de l’État de l’Oklahoma. Les parlementaires de l’Oklahoma ont adopté jeudi par 33 voix contre 12 un projet de loi qui rendra l’avortement illégal dans cet État du sud des États-Unis. Le projet de loi doit maintenant être ratifié par la gouverneure de l’Oklahoma.
Mary Fallin, gouverneur de l’Oklahoma, est classée comme « pro-vie » mais elle a refusé de commenter le projet de loi avant de prendre sa décision. Mary Fallin est citée comme possible partenaire de campagne de Donald Trump, qui devrait être investi comme candidat républicain pour la présidentielle de novembre lors de la convention du Grand Old Party, en juillet.
Le texte du projet de loi prévoit que « tout médecin qui réaliserait un avortement se verra interdire d’exercer sa profession dans l’État », à la seule exception des grossesses qui mettent la mère en danger de mort.
Le projet de loi a été proposé par le sénateur républicain Nathan Dahm, qui veut annuler la célèbre décision Roe v. Wade prise par la cour suprême en 1973, légalisant l’avortement aux États-Unis.
