L‘Italie n’est qu’une étape pour une grande partie des centaines de milliers de migrants qui y débarquent ou qui y sont acheminés par des ONG collaboratrices de l’invasion.
L’Autriche a donc décidé de mettre en place une maxi-opération de contrôle à toutes ses frontières, même celles qui sont considérées comme mineures. Elle veut contrer les entrées illégales sur son territoire et en prend les moyens.
L’ordre de renforcer la surveillance des cols frontaliers a été donné par le ministre de l’Intérieur autrichien, Wolfgang Sobotka, suite aux informations qui lui ont été communiquées par la direction générale pour la sécurité publique. Cette dernière a constaté une augmentation notable des arrivées des migrants illégaux par des cols moins fréquentés.
Comme a souligné Sobotka « l’objectif est celui de réduire l’immigration clandestine. » Aux cols les plus sensibles, en particuliers avec la Hongrie et la Slovaquie, les forces de police seront assistées par une importante présence de l’armée en soutien.
Les mesures prises aux frontières sont de multiplier les contrôles des véhicules et sur les trains de marchandise entre l’Italie et l’Allemagne.
