Les autorités autrichiennes ont rétabli, ce 25 avril, les contrôles à la frontière avec la Hongrie. Mesure prise suite à l’ouverture prochaine d’un centre pour migrants à Körmend (Hongrie)[1], à proximité de la frontière autrichienne, et à l’insuffisance des contrôles pratiqués à la frontière serbo-hongroise. En effet, depuis que la route des Balkans a été fermée aux migrants, les passeurs ont intensifié leurs activités à la frontière autrichienne. Les poids lourds et les camionnettes sont systématiquement contrôlés et, à certains points de contrôle, l’attente peut atteindre quarante minutes. La construction d’une barrière est par ailleurs envisagée.
Des soldats autrichiens font également des patrouilles le long de la frontière. L’Autriche envisage d’ériger d’autres barrières dans le Tyrol et le Burgenland. Selon le portail Internet thelocal.at, il est manifeste que le gros du flux de migrants passera dans l’avenir par l’Italie. Les contrôles à la frontière italienne devraient donc être réintroduits fin mai.
