Le 5 janvier dernier, le Conseil des ministres a nommé Laurent Stefanini ambassadeur de France auprès du Saint-Siège. Son prédécesseur, Bruno Jouvert, a quitté la Villa Bonaparte, située Via Piave à Rome, depuis le 1er mars. Mais Laurent Stefanini n’est toujours pas arrivé.
Il se murmure que le Vatican n’en veut pas. Manuel Valls lui-même considère le choix de Laurent Stefanini comme une « provocation ». Car ce diplomate de 55 ans est notoirement… homosexuel.
On reconnaît là toute la finesse républicaine ! Hollande aura-t-il cette même « impertinence » à l’égard de l’Arabie saoudite ou du Qatar ?
