Etats-Unis – L’archidiocèse de Saint Louis rompt les liens avec les Guides et Eclaireuses. Dans une lettre écrite jeudi dernier, Mgr Robert J. Carlson a décrit divers problèmes doctrinaux liés aux Eclaireuses et à leur organisation mère, l’Association mondiale des Guides et Eclaireuses (AMGE).
L’archevêché constate la «promotion continue par l’association de la contraception et du droit à l’avortement alors que les filles affiliées sont pour la plupart mineures« . La lettre mentionne également la promotion par l’association d’icônes du féminisme radical comme Gloria Steinem et Betty Friedan, et des organisations dont les membres promeuvent des valeurs anti-catholiques, comme Amnesty International (qui considère l’avortement comme un «droit fondamental»), Oxfam et autres.
Des décisions récentes des éclaireurs d’accepter comme membres des homosexuels actifs et des jeunes transgenres sont également une préoccupation. Aussi, l’archevêque de Saint Louis (États-Unis) Mgr Carlson a dissous le Comité catholique des filles scoutes et a coupé les liens avec l’organisation de jeunesse, préoccupé par l’idéologie du genre adoptée par l’Association mondiale, en collaboration avec certaines organisations internationales. Mgr Carlson a rappelé son obligation d’aider les jeunes filles à grandir comme «filles de Dieu » et a créé un nouveau Comité catholique pour la formation des filles.
