L’armée syrienne a repris dimanche aux rebelles la ville à majorité arménienne de Kassab (nord-ouest), proche d’un poste frontalier stratégique avec la Turquie, a annoncé la télévision d’Etat. « Les unités de l’armée rétablissent la sécurité et la stabilité dans la ville de Kassab dans la province de Lattaquié après avoir avoir tué un grand nombre de terroristes et détruit leurs armes », a indiqué la chaîne. La ville était contrôlée depuis deux mois par des brigades islamistes et des combattants du front al-Nosra. Pris en étau, ils ont préféré se retirer plutôt que d’avoir à subir un siège. Cette prise est importante pour l’armée syrienne puisqu’elle va empêcher une partie des rebelles de compter sur l’aide de leur allié turc.
