L’ambassadeur des États-Unis à Rome, John Phillips, est un anti-Trump convaincu, ce qui signifie un pro-immigration virulent. Ces derniers temps il a multiplié les déclarations anti et pro.
Il a attaqué Donald Trump sur les migrants : « Sa position est choquante. » Et a blâmé Bruxelles sur la même question : « L’hostilité envers l’immigration n’a pas de sens. » « L’Europe a besoin des migrants, explique-t-il en commentant les positions anti-immigration de Trump. Elle ne doit pas s’opposer à ce phénomène. » « Les pays européens aussi ont besoin de l’immigration. Regardez l’Allemagne, son économie en a besoin. »
Quelles pédanterie et ingérence dans la vie des Européens !
Le diplomate continue son plaidoyer en faveur des migrants qui n’est qu’une attaque détournée de plus envers Trump : « L’Amérique est la terre de l’immigration. Tous sont arrivés d’autres endroits. Cela a toujours été ainsi pour notre pays. La force de l’Amérique a toujours été la diversité. Beaucoup sont arrivés de tous les coins de la terre, l’Amérique c’est cela, un aimant, pour ceux aussi qui proviennent de l’Amérique centrale, du Mexique. »
Son séjour romain a du inspirer son message humanitariste. Du Jorge Maria Bergoglio tout craché :
« Maintenant il y a un candidat qui dit « construisons un mur » pour tenir loin les Mexicains. C’est une position choquante, de rupture, complètement différente de ce que l’Amérique a toujours été. »
C’est cependant la position qu’ont choisie ses compatriotes en votant pour que Donald Trump soit le nouveau président des États-Unis !
