L’Allemagne a expulsé hier le chef de la CIA à Berlin suite à deux affaires d’espionnage au profit des États-Unis. « Il a été demandé au représentant des services secrets américains à l’ambassade des Etats-Unis de quitter l’Allemagne », a déclaré le porte-parole du gouvernement, Steffen Seibert, dans un communiqué. Selon la BBC, le porte-parole du Parlement allemand a justifié cette demande par le fait que les services secrets américains « n’ont pas assez coopéré et n’ont apporté aucune réponse » aux questions des autorités allemandes sur les récentes affaires d’espionnage.
La semaine dernière, un agent des services de renseignement allemands (BND) âgé de 31 ans a été arrêté, à la suite de soupçons d’espionnage au profit de la CIA. L’homme, qui travaillait au siège de l’organisation, à Pullach, dans la banlieue de Munich, aurait remis plus de deux cents documents aux Etats-Unis depuis la fin de 2012.
Pour la deuxième fois en cinq jours, la justice allemande a ouvert une enquête, mercredi, sur un espion présumé, travaillant, selon des médias, pour le compte de Washington. Il s’agit cette fois d’un soldat travaillant au ministère de la défense, selon la presse allemande. Le parquet fédéral a annoncé enquêter sur un nouveau cas d’espionnage présumé au profit de l’étranger, sans préciser le pays bénéficiaire.
