A Bruxelles, la nouvelle est tombée comme une gifle pour tous les bénévoles qui se sont naïvement démenés pour aménager un centre d’accueil de 2000 mètres carrés permettant de loger 500 immigrés.
La Croix-Rouge avait fait transporter à ses frais 500 lits de camp et obtenu du gouvernement belge d’occuper le World Trade Center 3, un bâtiment situé juste à côté de l’Office des Etrangers. Des bénévoles avaient tout préparé et installé un oreiller et des kits avec le nécessaire de toilette sur chacun des 500 lits. Des stocks de couvertures et de draps bien pliés attendaient les immigrés.
Mais hier soir, à peine… 14 personnes sont venues y dormir.
Les autres immigrés ont préféré continuer à dormir sous tente dans le Parc Maximilien.
