L’actrice Rosanna Arquette, 59 ans, aujourd’hui quelque peu oubliée des réalisateurs en recherche de comédiennes, ne survit médiatiquement que grâce à ses tweets.
Le mercredi 7 août, elle a tout simplement publié un tweet ethno-masochiste dans lequel elle explique avoir honte d’être une femme blanche privilégiée.
« Je suis désolée d’être blanche et privilégiée. Cela me dégoûte. Et j’ai tellement honte », a-t-elle écrit sur le réseau social.
Le public n’a guère goûté à ce qui frise le racisme anti-blanc. Elle a reçu tellement de messages de gens en colère qu’elle a décidé de protéger son compte et de ne plus rendre accessible ce tweet.
En janvier 2019, elle avait déjà créé une controverse en déclarant à Paris Match n’avoir que des amis démocrates, puisqu’elle se voit « mal avec des républicains, qui, pour la plupart, sont racistes, se fichent de l’égalité hommes-femmes comme de la planète, et qui, en plus sont au moins pour certains favorables au port d’armes ».
Times of Israël ne manque jamais de souligner que Rosanna Arquette est juive. Née d’une mère juive et d’un père qui s’est converti à l’islam, elle-même ne manque pas d’utiliser l’argument d’être juive pour comparer l’internement des immigrés illégaux aux camps de concentration et affirmer qu’aucun juif ne devrait soutenir Donald Trump.
Ajoutons pour la petite histoire que Rosanna Arquette est aussi la sœur du transgenre Alexis (né Robert) Arquette, mort du sida en 2016.
