Monsieur l’abbé Patrick de La Rocque est depuis plus de 2 ans le curé de l’emblématique église de Saint Nicolas du Chardonnet, phare de la tradition. C’est dans ce lieu niché au pied de la montagne Sainte Geneviève que depuis 40 ans s’organise la résistance de la Fraternité Saint Pie X, créée par Monseigneur Marcel Lefebvre.
Pour TV Libertés, Patrick de La Rocque revient sur son parcours de professeur de philosophie et de prêtre, sur son parcours professoral puis pastoral. C’est avec beaucoup de beauté qu’il redit et explique l’importance du sacré et de la liturgie traditionnelle. Il évoque ensuite les relations de la Fraternité Saint Pie X avec les différentes communautés Ecclesia Dei, la décision de Benoît XVI d’accorder une place à la messe tridentine, trompeusement appelé « rite extraordinaire » (Motu propio Summorum Pontificum). Enfin, il commente l’actualité avec la rencontre en début de semaine du supérieur de la Fraternité, Monseigneur Fellay, avec le Pape François.
Timide pas ou pas de géant vers la réconciliation ? L’abbé Patrick de la Rocque estime qu’une reconnaissance canonique pour la FSSPX dans les circonstances actuelles serait néfaste pour l’Eglise, car cela signerait nécessairement la fin de la confrontation doctrinale. Le regard de l’abbé de la Rocque est d’autant plus intéressant qu’il fut l’un des théologiens de la FSSPX lors des discussions doctrinales avec Rome de 2009 à 2011.
