C’est ce samedi 6 février que le gouvernement tunisien a annoncé avoir mis fin à la construction « d’un système d’obstacle » à la frontière avec la Libye. Farhat Horchani, ministre tunisien de la Défense a déclaré aux journalistes ce qui suit : « Le travail (…) est achevé. La Tunisie est capable de lutter contre le terrorisme d’une manière active et efficace ». La Tunisie veut couper tous contacts avec ce voisin qui semble devenir un ghetto des terroristes. L’on se souvient que la Tunisie a été la cible en 2015 de plusieurs attentats dont les auteurs présumés auraient séjournés en Libye.
Le ministre tunisien a précisé que ce système de défense semble être efficace, puis qu’il a été testé «… Nous avons plusieurs fois arrêté des véhicules et des personnes qui essayaient de faire de la contrebande, surtout d’armes ».
Notons que ce « système d’obstacles » s’étend sur près de 200 km, il est notamment constitué de monticules de sable et de tranchées d’eau, respectivement de plusieurs mètres de haut et de large.
