La situation de la presse est catastrophique. Les ventes des journaux et hebdomadaires s’effondrent.
Le Nouvel Obs est en déficit et son patron, Claude Perdriel, aimerait vendre son hebdomadaire à Xavier Niel, le patron de Free.
Libération se porte très mal et est forcé de lancer des campagnes de soutien, comme si le titre était en danger.
Le Monde affiche une perte de 3,6 millions d’euros malgré une subvention annuelle de l’Etat qui atteignait 18,4 millions d’euros en 2012.
Et où en serait Le Figaro sans les 17,2 millions d’euros d’aides de l’Etat ? Ne parlons même pas de L’Humanité qui ne survit que sous perfusion de l’Etat.
Mais à qui la faute ? Certes, l’information accessible gratuitement sur internet porte un coup fatal à la presse imprimée et payante, mais le choc ne serait pas si rude si le traitement de l’information on ne peut plus « politiquement correct » n’avait à ce point entraîné une perte de confiance auprès des lecteurs.
