Notre imagination se représente souvent mal ce qu’est la Passion, ce que furent les souffrances du Fils de Dieu. Nos yeux nous ont habitué à la vue des crucifix sans que nous fassions l’effort de nous remémorer quelle fut l’atroce réalité de la Passion.
Même si jamais nous ne pourrons saisir toute la souffrance de Jésus portant les péchés du monde pour les expier sur la Croix, le magnifique film de Mel Gibson a l’immense mérite de rappeler à nos yeux la cruauté sensible et physique de ce que furent ces heures de la passion.
Dans notre monde abreuvé d’images, ce film peut nous aider à la méditation.
