Belgique – Louis Tobback, socialiste flamand, a été autrefois ministre de l’Intérieur. Dans un entretien accordé au magazine Le Vif à propos du terrorisme, il déclare notamment :
« La menace terroriste est utile à ceux qui souhaitent faire passer certaines lois qui ne passeraient pas autrement. Il ne faut pas oublier à quoi a mené l’incendie du Reichstag en 1933. Les nazis avaient alors bouté le feu pour faire passer des lois d’exception qui sans cet incendie ne seraient jamais passées.«
Ces propos ne sont pas sans rappeler ceux d’un certain François Hollande en 2009 :
