Jean-Yves Le Drian est en ce moment en visite en Arabie Saoudite. Les deux pays ont convenu de la nécessité de renforcer l’opposition syrienne et l’ASL. De même d’importants contrats d’exportation sont en cours en Paris et Ryad. A partir de lundi, un contrat de 1,3 milliard de dollars, selon l’entourage du ministre, est entré en vigueur pour moderniser quatre frégates et deux pétroliers-ravitailleurs saoudiens mis en service dans les années 1980. Ces travaux seront effectués par DCNS, Thalès et MBDA, en partenariat avec des industriels saoudiens. Des discussions sont en outre en cours pour moderniser la défense antiaérienne saoudienne. Le projet d’un montant d’environ 2 milliards d’euros porte notamment sur la fourniture à l’armée saoudienne de missiles sol-air Crotale de nouvelle génération du groupe Thales, qui équipe l’armée française depuis les années 1990.
Evidemment l’Arabie Saoudite est un pays très démocratique et respectueux des Droits de l’Homme, la France n’a donc aucun cas de conscience à l’armer !
