La franc-maçonnerie est bien représentée au Conseil Economique et Social de l’ONU (ECOSOC). Elle y est notamment représentée par le Centre de Liaison et d’Information des Puissances maçonniques Signataires de l’Appel de Strasbourg (Clipsas) .
Le CLIPSAS est une organisation maçonnique mondiale qui regroupe 106 obédiences à travers le monde.
Marcel Laurent, ancien Grand maître de la Grande Loge des Cultures et de la Spiritualité, devrait être officiellement confirmé dans quelques jours comme le nouveau représentant au Conseil Economique et Social de l’ONU(ECOSOC).
Marcel Laurent participera à 9 réunions onusiennes par an : 3 à Genève, 3 à Vienne et 3 à New-York. Dans le cadre de cette mission, Marcel Laurent a déjà rencontré Brice Lalonde, auditeur permanent à ECOSOC et à l’ONU.
Le Grand Maître de la Grande Loge des Cultures et de la Spiritualité (GLCS), est une grande maîtresse, Christine Sauvagnac, qui, selon un blog maçonnique, avait révélé dans son discours d’après-convent, le 7 octobre 2017, que le Clipsas avait confié à la GLCS le soin de le représenter à l’Ecosoc de l’ONU. Marcel Laurent est aussi son « compagnon », ancien Grand Maître à qui elle a succédé en 2016.
La GLCS est aussi membre de l’Alliance Maçonnique Européenne, qui représente la franc-maçonnerie auprès des institutions européennes, et siège également à la CPMAM (Conférence des Puissances maçonniques Africaines et Malgaches).
