Véronique Besse était le dernier député du Mouvement pour la France (MPF), le parti de Philippe de Villiers. Elle siégeait depuis douze ans à l’Assemblée Nationale en tant que représentante parlementaire de la quatrième circonscription de Vendée. Elle y avait pris la suite de Philippe de Villiers, élu pour la première fois dans cette circonscription en 1987. Cela faisait donc trente ans que le Bocage était villiériste dès le premier tour.
Mais Véronique Besse a jeté l’éponge et ne se représentera pas à l’élection législative. Officiellement, il s’agit de se recentrer sur sa mairie des Herbiers. Pourquoi pas ?
Mais Véronique Besse s’en va en sabordant le navire. Non seulement, elle n’a pas préparé sa succession , mais elle a attendu la veille de la clôture des inscriptions des candidats en préfecture pour annoncer qu’elle ne se représenterait pas. Attitude lamentable qui s’apparente à de la trahison.
