Douglas Reed (1895-1976) était un journaliste et essayiste britannique.
Il raconte, dans ce livre La Controverse de Sion écrit en 1956 et publié pour la première fois en 1978, avoir été le témoin, plus que la plupart des gens, d’événements du vingtième siècle qui sont le résultat d’instrumentalisations et de perversions secrètes d’objectifs nationaux. Il décrit deux méthodes – la révolution par le bas et la corruption des gouvernements par le haut – utilisées pour installer le gouvernement mondial.
Cet ouvrage, qui retrace l’histoire du judaïsme depuis les temps bibliques jusqu’à la création de l’Etat d’Israël, est avant tout une dénonciation du nationalisme sioniste. considéré par l’auteur comme profondément maléfique et auquel les leaders politiques occidentaux subordonnent de façon insensée leur politique nationale.
C’est dans ce cadre, explique Douglas Reed, que l’Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU) fut créée et que doit se comprendre la géopolitique des gouvernements britanniques et américains.
