L’information a d’abord provoqué une secousse parmi les organisations antiracistes américaines et les milieux activistes noirs : Rachel Dolezal, leader de l’antenne de Washington de la NAACP, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People («association nationale pour la promotion des personnes de couleur»), qui compta parmi ses membres un certain Martin Luther King, a fait croire pendant plusieurs années qu’elle était afro-américaine alors qu’elle était totalement blanche, née de parents blancs !
Des photos fournies à la presse par ses parents, Larry et Ruthanne, d’ascendance tchèque, suédoise et allemande, ont créé la stupéfaction.
La mère de Rachel a raconté au magazine The Spokesman Review que sa fille a commencé à «se déguiser» entre 2006 et 2007, après que ses parents ont adopté quatre enfants afro-américains : «C’est très triste que Rachel n’ait pas été juste elle-même. L’efficacité [de son travail] dans les causes de la communauté afro-américaine aurait été beaucoup plus viable, et elle aurait été plus efficace si elle avait juste été honnête avec tout le monde.»
Son profil Linkedin, signale que Rachel Dolezal donne des cours au département d’études africaines de l’Eastern Washington University et est membre d’une commission municipale sur la police. Et Rachel Dolezal continue, contre toute évidence, à prétendre être une afro-américaine…
Ce déni de la réalité a provoqué aux Etats-Unis un nouveau débat. Après les transgenres, qui nient leur réalité biologique et anatomique, certains voudraient obtenir la reconnaissance des transraces, personnes qui nient leur réalité raciale et veulent appartenir à une autre race !
Il s’agit bien d’un aboutissement logique de la théorie du genre qui prétend nier le réel. Dans un proche avenir, il y aura certainement place pour ceux qui prétendront être un poisson rouge ou un éléphant rose. Et il se trouvera quelques « intellectuels » pour clamer que ce serait brimer leur liberté que de les empêcher d’obtenir la reconnaissance sociale de ce choix.
Les cabinets des psychiatres ne sont pas prêts de désemplir…
