La chanteuse de Gospel Kim Burrell était programmée pour participer à l’émission en talk-show d’Ellen de Generes, avec Pharrell Williams, diffusée par NBC.
C’était avant qu’une vidéo de Burrell soit diffusée, où elle s’exprime, à l’Église Love & Liberty Fellowship de Houston, sur le problème de l’homosexualité. Burrell y affirme que l’homosexualité est une perversion.
Mardi, l’animatrice Ellen DeGeneres a annoncé sur Twitter que Burrell ne viendrait pas à l’émission. Pharrell, qui est lui toujours programmé, s’est empressé de dénoncer « le discours haineux » de sa consœur, d’autres figures du Showbiz organisent la mise à l’écart de Kim Burrell.
La chanteuse a expliqué sur Facebook que ses « ennemis » n’avaient filmé qu’une partie de ses commentaires. « Je t’aime et Dieu t’aime », conclut-elle. « Mais Dieu hait le péché. »
Détestez le péché, aimez le pécheur est effectivement un principe chrétien. Mais l’Amérique, comme l’ensemble de nos sociétés occidentales, ne semblent, décidément, plus vouloir l’entendre.
