Un témoin raconte :
«J’avançais vers l’accueil quand j’ai vu les femmes qui criaient: +Dieu est Grand, Allah Akbar+ (…) Puis l’une d’entre elles a jeté quelque chose vers les policiers et c’est à ce moment-là que je me suis enfui».
Ces trois femmes ont été tuées ce dimanche 11 septembre 2016 après avoir attaqué à la bombe incendiaire et au couteau un poste de police de la ville côtière de Mombasa, dans le sud-est du Kenya, a annoncé la police kényane, qui a évoqué une «attaque terroriste présumée».
Selon des sources policières du comté de Mombasa :
« les trois femmes sont entrées dans le principal poste de police de la ville en milieu de matinée, en disant vouloir déposer plainte pour un vol, l’une d’entre elles a lancé une bombe incendiaire à l’accueil et les autres ont agressé deux policiers et les ont poignardés».
Peterson Maelo chef de la police de Mombassa ajoute :
«Les trois assaillantes ont été tuées et les deux agents ont été emmenés en urgence à l’hôpital».
L’incendie a été éteint et le poste de police bouclé pour l’enquête. Une forte présence policière et militaire était observée aux alentours. La même source ajoute qu’un haut responsable de la police ayant requis l’anonymat a indiqué que les trois femmes portaient le voile islamique. «C’est du terrorisme, elles menaient une mission, sans l’ombre d’un doute», a-t-il affirmé.
Un témoin raconte :
