Ce quatrième volet de l’exposition « Comme en 14… Saint-Affrique » est consacré au quotidien en 1914-1918 à Saint-Affrique ainsi qu’à Mgr Ginisty. Réalisée dans le cadre du projet municipal labellisé de commémoration du centenaire de la Première guerre mondiale, elle sera présentée jusqu’au 23 février 2018.
Qui est Mgr Charles Ginisty ?
Devenu curé de la ville en 1906, il est sacré évêque de Verdun trois mois avant la guerre. Dès la fin de celle-ci, et dans son diocèse ravagé, il met en place le projet de l’Ossuaire de Douaumont. Il s’y consacre jusqu’à sa mort en 1946, tout en maintenant un lien privilégié avec les Saint-Affricains.
