Les séances de questions parlementaires de ces derniers mois ont été l’occasion pour le sénateur Vlaams Belang (« Intérêt flamand », droite nationale) Bart Laeremans d’adresser à la ministre de la justice et à la secrétaire d’Etat à l’asile et à la migration quelques questions concernant la composition de la population carcérale en Belgique. La presse « conformiste » n’a malheureusement pas jugé bon de relayer la réponse dont nous a gratifié Annemie Turtelboom (VLD, parti « flamand, libéral et démocrate »), ministre de la justice, et qui vaut pourtant son pesant de cacahuètes.
Ainsi, le sénateur nationaliste a notamment demandé quel était le nombre exact de détenus et la répartition de ceux-ci entre citoyens belges et étrangers. Et la ministre libérale de fournir un tableau reprenant la situation précise de toutes les prisons du pays au 15 avril 2013. On y apprend que la population carcérale totale s’élevait alors à 11 649 prisonniers, dont 6402 Belges et 5247 étrangers, soit respectivement 54,96 % et 45,04 % ! Certaines prisons, telle celle de Wortel, se démarquent avec une proportion d’étrangers frôlant les 70 % !
De son côté, Bart Laeremans plaide pour que « beaucoup plus d’efforts [soient] produits afin de faire exécuter les peines dans les pays d’origine » et qu’ « une politique beaucoup plus conséquente [soit] menée en matière de retour des illégaux ».
