Malgré un bobardement intensif, des histoires sur les « malheurs des migrants » à faire pleurer dans les chaumières et une occultation totale des horreurs commises par ses derniers, le soutien s’effrite, au point même que les vrais réfugiés en pâtissent.
Voici le taux de personne acceptant et refusant les réfugiés de guerre dans les principaux pays du monde occidental selon le rapport de Phillip Connor daté du 19 septembre 2018, intitulé « A majority of Europeans favor taking in refugees, but most disapprove of EU’s handling of the issue » et paru sur le site du Pew research center.

Notons les résultats relativement bas de l’Italie (en première ligne), de la Pologne (qui question réfugié a donné en 1945), de l’Afrique du Sud (qui traite les réfugiés noirs presque aussi mal que ses fermiers blancs), Israël (les Falachas en savent quelque chose, voire même les Sépharades…) et la Hongrie.
Notons également, que, partisans ou adversaires des réfugiés, tout le monde s’accorde à dire que l’Europe a une mauvaise politique en la matière. Si la France a un taux de désapprobation de 74 %, le rejet est majoritaire partout : 92 % en Grèce, 84 % en Suède, 80 % en Hongrie, 78 % en Italie, 71 % en Espagne, 67 % en Pologne, 66 % en Allemagne et au Royaume-Uni et 58 % aux Pays-Bas.
