Jean-Pierre Maugendre de Terre de missions, émission de TV Libertés, a reçu Mgr Fellay pour parler de la Fraternité Sacerdotale Saint Pie-X :
« Mgr Fellay est supérieur général depuis 1994 de la Fraternité Saint Pie X fondée par Mgr Lefebvre en 1970. Il expose dans cet entretien la spiritualité propre de la Fraternité Saint Pie X et fait le point sur les relations de la Fraternité avec le Saint-Siège. Suite aux dernières rencontres entre le pape et Mgr Fellay, qui ont débouché sur de nouvelles propositions, il ne semble plus manquer qu’un “tampon” pour conclure un accord. Cet accord est possible, selon le supérieur général, sans attendre que la situation ne soit devenue totalement satisfaisante, à ses yeux, dans l’Eglise. »
En une vingtaine de minutes, Mgr Fellay évoque la situation de l’Église, la crise générale en son sein, les réactions de certains membres de la hiérarchie ecclésiastique face à la confusion actuelle, le pape François, et bien sûr la prélature personnelle qui leur ait proposée.
Mgr Fellay considère que le souci de François en leur donnant le pouvoir de confesser et la possibilité pour les divorcés-remariés de communier procède du même mouvement :
« le souci du Saint Père pour les rejetés de tout bord, les périphéries. »
Quant à la prélature personnelle, il révèle que
« on avance dans la bonne direction. »
