Grande-Bretagne – The Sun signale que le projet d’interdiction de manger du chien ou du chat est bloqué par crainte d’offenser les populations immigrées originaires d’Extrême-Orient.
Le ministère de l’Environnement voulait faire inscrire dans la loi que la possession de viande de chien ou de chat constituait une infraction pénale. Michael Gove, l’ancien ministre du département de l’Environnement, de l’Alimentation et des affaires rurales l’avait ordonné durant l’été bien.
Le Sun a cependant révélé que des fonctionnaires sont intervenus pour bloquer cette mesure. Le député Giles Watling s’est entendu répondre par le ministère de la Justice qu’une des raisons de ce blocage résidait dans le fait que le gouvernement ferait preuve d’ »insensibilité culturelle » s’il dictait aux autres communautés ce qu’il est permis de manger.
