La nouvelle a de quoi étonner : un pédophile a été arrêté grâce à Google. A priori, on ne peut qu’applaudir à la mise sous les verrous du consommateur d’images pédopornographiques. Mais après quelques minutes de réflexions, il y a lieu de se demander quel a été le rôle de Google. Et là, c’est tout de suite plus inquiétant. En fait, Google scanne tous les e-mails des messageries Gmail. C’est ainsi que Google a pu identifier le contenu pédopornographique d’images trouvées dans la messagerie Gmail du détraqué sexuel.
Cela devrait sembler évident mais rien n’est vraiment gratuit. Les utilisateurs de Google et Gmail acceptent distraitement des conditions générales qui précisent que Google se réserve le droit de prendre connaissance et d’utiliser les données des utilisateurs de ses services.
L’objectif est d’établir un profilage pour adapter et personnaliser les annonces publicitaires qui vont accompagner l’internaute. Mais combien d’internautes se rendent compte qu’ils ont accepté ainsi d’abandonner toute vie privée, livrant toutes leurs données aux méga-robots de Google…
