Christophe Chalençon, une des figures emblématiques du mouvement des Gilets jaunes, a été interrogé, le 5 février dernier lors de la rencontre avec Luigi Di Maio, vice-premier ministre italien, par une journaliste italienne sans savoir qu’il était filmé. Il traduit une profonde exaspération du petit peuple de France face à l’inertie du pouvoir macronien :
« Je sais que je risque beaucoup. Je peux me prendre une balle dans la tête à n’importe quel moment. Mais j’en n’ai rien à foutre. J’irai au bout de mes convictions, parce que s’ils me mettent une balle dans la tête, Macron il est passé à la guillotine. On est arrivé à un tel point de confrontation, que s’ils m’abattent, il est mort aussi. Parce que le peuple il rentre dans l’Élysée et il démonte tout. Lui, sa femme, et toute la clique. »

Déjà en décembre dernier, Christophe Chalençon avait réclamé la démission du gouvernement d’Édouard Philippe et appelé à la nomination du général de Villiers à sa place.
Contacté par LCI, le gilet jaune du Vaucluse assume ses propos :
« Heureusement que je maintiens (mes propos). Pourquoi je ne les maintiendrais pas ? Je n’appelle pas à la guerre civile, je mets en garde ! À force de faire du politiquement correct, de mettre la poussière sous le tapis, on en arrive à des situations qui n’ont pas évolué depuis trois mois et Monsieur Castaner se félicite des gens qu’il mutile dans la rue. »
