Le ministre de l’Intérieur Gérard Collomb se distancie chaque jour un peu plus d’Emmanuel Macron. « Nous ne sommes pas nombreux à pouvoir encore lui parler », dit-il en petit comité, sachant que la formule se retrouvera rapidement dans tous les médias.
« D’ailleurs, il va finir par ne plus me supporter. Mais si tout le monde se prosterne devant lui, il finira par s’isoler, car par nature l’Élysée isole. »
A une journaliste de La Dépêche du Midi, Gérard Collomb évoque le « manque d’humilité » de l’exécutif.
« Les provinciaux, et j’en suis, ont déjà une tendance naturelle à considérer que les Parisiens ont la grosse tête et les snobent, or des expressions comme la nouvelle grammaire de la politique ou la ‘start-up nation’, ils ne s’y reconnaissent pas. »
Gérard Collomb désavoue ainsi publiquement le vocabulaire symbolique du « nouveau monde » politique que prétend incarner Emmanuel Macron.
Le ministre de l’Intérieur avait annoncé dans une interview à L’Express qu’il quitterait la place Beauvau après les européennes de juin 2019 pour se lancer dans la campagne pour la mairie de Lyon en 2020.
