Jesse Rau, un conducteur de bus canadien, a refusé de conduire un bus décoré aux couleurs de l’arc-en-ciel, et qui promouvait la « gay pride » de la ville de Calgary.
Jesse Rau travaille dans l’entreprise de transport urbain de la ville et fait l’objet d’une médiatisation suite aux critiques du lobby LGBT pour avoir refusé de conduire un « bus gay ».
«Je pense que les gens de l’entreprise sont maintenant contre moi parce que je suis resté ferme dans ma foi chrétienne et parce que je n’abandonnerai pas mes valeurs« , a déclaré Rau.
Jesse Rau, chrétien évangéliste, a aussi déclaré publiquement qu’il préférait perdre son travail plutôt que de conduire ce bus, car cela irait à l’encontre de ses croyances chrétiennes. « Je suis prêt à tout sacrifier et à souffrir pour défendre ce qui est juste« , a-t-il déclaré à CBC News. Il a précisé qu’il aimait son emploi de chauffeur et n’a pas de problème avec la grande majorité des gens avec qui il travaille.
