La chanteuse, auteur et comédienne malienne Fatoumata Diawara a sur l’immigration une réflexion qui devrait être relayée plus abondamment.
Elle est bien sûr touchée par les images de cet exode massif d’Africains qui quittent le continent. Mais Fatoumata Diawara explique regretter cette fuite de la jeunesse africaine vers l’Europe.
La chanteuse (qui a collaboré avec Matthieu Chedid pour l’album Lamomali) affirme que fuir l’Afrique est une erreur :
“Il faut que la jeunesse reste en Afrique.”
Aux journalistes qui l’interrogent, l’artiste malienne refuse que la seule image de l’Afrique dans les autres pays soit celle des bateaux chargés d’immigrés clandestins. Elle répète que les jeunes africains doivent rester sur leur terre afin de construire le continent avec les richesses qui s’y trouvent.
