Cette exposition nichée au cœur du Château des Ducs de Savoie recèle de vrais trésors réveillés des sacristies de plusieurs églises savoyardes.
La salle, très bien agencée, renseigne le visiteur sur l’origine, la fonction et la date de fabrication de ces objets d’orfèvrerie conçus pour le service divin. Un magnifique ciboire du XVème siècle, de nombreux calices, ostensoirs, croix de procession, ou ciboires du XVII, XVIII ou XIXème…
Les yeux sont éblouis par ces vases sacrés aux moulures ciselées par de véritables artistes : orfèvres géniaux qui ont richement « enluminé » ces objets du culte.
Quel dommage qu’ils ne servent plus !
La plupart des visiteurs ne sait même pas à quoi ils pouvaient être utilisés…
Une page d’histoire de l’Eglise qui ne s’est malheureusement pas transmise !!
