Etats-Unis – En Virginie, la Fondation catholique Blessed Virgin Mary a fait l’acquisition d’une clinique spécialisée dans les avortements (l’Amethyst Health Center) et l’a transformée en un centre médical gratuit dédié à la Vierge Marie et ouvert aux plus démunis.
Le centre médical est maintenant appelé Clinique médicale gratuite Mère de la Miséricorde. Il a été inauguré le 6 décembre et a été transféré aux organismes de bienfaisance catholiques du diocèse d’Arlington.
Mgr. Michael Burbidge, évêque d’Arlington, est venu bénir la clinique.
Le directeur de la clinique, le Dr Scott Ross, a déclaré au journal américain The Washington Post que le personnel est particulièrement heureux de faire « quelque chose de bien » là où précédemment, des enfants étaient mis à mort dans le ventre de leur mère.
Le Dr Ross a rappelé qu’à l’époque, des groupes pro-vie venaient régulièrement prier devant ce centre pratiquant des avortements et que leurs prières ont été récompensées.
De plus, la Fondation Blessed Virgin Mary a également récupéré le numéro de téléphone de la ligne pour les femmes voulant avorter, et redirige maintenant vers un centre d’aide pour les femmes enceintes en difficulté.
