Loin de l’image de joueur exemplaire, donneur de leçon de tolérance et paix, Lilian Thuram continue d’être en conflit avec son ex-compagne Karine Le Marchand. Plainte déposée pour violences conjugales puis retirée, chacun continue de donner sa version des faits. Si depuis l’annonce, Karine Le Marchand est plus discrète, ce n’est pas le cas de son compagnon. Dans l’histoire, c’est Thuram qui a le plus à perdre pour son image. Pour lui, il ne s’agirait que d’une question de basse vengeance : «Elle me fait une demande, que je trouve déplacée. Une demande de compensation par rapport aux années qu’on a passé ensemble. Et donc j’ai trouvé ça un peu surréaliste, et j’ai dit non. Elle m’a expliqué qu’elle allait détruire me détruire et détruire mon image. (…) Ces paroles ont été prononcées le 3 septembre, le 3 septembre au soir elle déposait plainte, le 4 je suis convoqué par la police. » Pour mieux corroborer sa version, il dévoile le sms que l’animatrice lui aurait envoyé : « Je rentre avec mes affaires à la maison. Si tu veux la guerre Lilian, tu vas l’avoir au-delà de ce que tu imagines » Qui croire ? En tout cas, monsieur Thuram aurait mieux fait de se cantonner au foot car ses leçons de morale, il peut les garder pour lui !
