Après une flambée générale lors années de crises aux alentours de 2008, les 28 pays de l’Union Européenne ont vu pour la quasi-totalité d’entre eux le taux d’endettement par rapport au PIB baisser. 22 pays ont en effet un endettement en baisse, 1 stable et 5 en hausse. Sur les 5 en hausse, la France est le seul qui dépasse les 2 % de points de PIB depuis 2014, passant de 94,4 % à 97. La moyenne de l’Europe des 28 est une baisse de 4,9 % et celle de la zone euro d’une baisse de 5,2 %.
- Plus de 2 % d’augmentation en 3 ans : France (+2,6 %).
- Moins de 2 % d’augmentation : Finlande (+ 1,2 %), Luxembourg (+ 0,3 %), Pologne (+ 0,3 %), Royaume-Uni (+ 0,3 %).
- Pas d’évolution : Italie
- Moins de 2 % de diminution : Estonie (-1,7 %), Bulgarie (-1,6 %), Lettonie (-0,8 %), Lituanie (-0,8 %), Grèce (-0,3 %).
- Moins de 5 % de diminution : Suède (-4,9 %), Portugal (-4,9 %), Roumanie (-4,1 %), Belgique (-3,9 %), Hongrie (- 3 %), Slovaquie (-2,9 %), Espagne (-2,1 %).
- Moins de 10 % de diminution : Danemark (-7,9 %), Tchéquie (-7,6 %), Croatie (-6 %), Autriche (-5,6 %), Slovénie (-6,7 %),
- Plus de 10 % de diminution : Irlande (-36,5 %), Malte (-13 %), Pays-Bas (-11,3 %), Allemagne (-10,6 %), Chypre (-10 %).
Lorsqu’on regarde l’évolution de l’endettement des 28 pays de l’Union depuis 2006, on s’aperçoit qu’il a explosé depuis, notamment aux alentours des années 2008-2010, répercussion de la crise des subprimes. Le petit tableau ci-dessous permet d’avoir une idée de la dégradation des économies européennes.
