Dimanche matin, le sacristain de l’église du village de Chalais a découvert les dégâts consécutifs à une tentative d’incendier l’église.
Les auteurs des faits ont mis le feu au Missel de l’autel, provoquant un début d’incendie qui ne s’est heureusement pas propagé de façon trop importante. Mais la messe dominicale n’a pas pu se tenir sur place.
«Je suis curé depuis 27 ans et j’ai officié dans différents pays, mais je n’ai jamais rien vécu de tel. Je suis choqué et triste de ce qui s’est passé. Brûler le missel d’autel, c’est comme brûler la bible, c’est un symbole très fort, un sacrilège. Il n’en reste plus rien.» , a déclaré le Père Boleslaw à la presse.
On notera que pour le porte-parole de la police, Jean-Marie Bornet, il s’agirait d’un simple acte de vandalisme. Le terme profanation, est-il en Suisse aussi réservé à d’autres confessions, à l’exclusion du christianisme ?
