Egypte – Une église au sud du Caire a été violemment attaquée vendredi par une foule scandant des slogans hostiles et appelant à la «démolition» du bâtiment, a annoncé samedi l’archevêché d’Atfih, dont dépend cette paroisse.
Des centaines d’assaillants musulmans ont fait irruption dans l’église al-Amir Tadros, située dans la localité d’Atfih, à une centaine de kilomètres au sud du Caire, et ont détruit ce qu’elle contenait puis ont agressé les chrétiens présents.
Les forces de sécurité sont intervenues pour disperser les émeutiers et sécuriser la zone. Des chrétiens blessés ont été transportés à l’hôpital, selon l’archevêque qui n’a pas précisé leur nombre.
