Cette exposition présente l’émergence des ordres de chevalerie à la fin du Moyen Âge.
Fondateurs d’ordres eux-mêmes et membres de ceux créés par leurs proches, les ducs d’Anjou Louis Ier et le roi René, contribuent à la naissance de ces cercles aristocratiques qui définissent un nouvel idéal chevaleresque.
Cette exposition est le fruit d’un partenariat scientifique entre le Centre des monuments nationaux – Domaine national du Château d’Angers, le Département de Maine-et-Loire, la Ville d’Angers (Bibliothèque municipale, Musée des Beaux- Arts), l’Université d’Angers et le Musée de la Légion d’honneur et des ordres de chevalerie (Paris).
Elle s’inscrit au nombre des opérations labellisées « Année européenne du patrimoine ».

Sans supplément au droit d’entrée du monument : plein tarif : 9€ ; tarif réduit et tarif groupe : 7€.
Gratuit pour les moins de 18 ans et les moins de 26 ans ressortissants ou résidents réguliers en UE, les détenteurs de la Carte blanche du château d’Angers ou du Pass Éducation, les personnes handicapées et leur accompagnateur, les demandeurs d’emploi sur présentation d’un justificatif de moins de 6 mois.
