Sur internet, circule un dramatique appel du père salésien Tom Uzhunnalil, kidnappé à Aden au Yémen le 4 mars dernier durant l’attaque islamiste qui avait coûté la vie à quatre sœurs missionnaires de la Charité et séquestré depuis.
Le prêtre demande de l’aide pour être libéré rapidement, sa santé étant très fragile. Il s’adresse au pape, aux autorités de l’Inde, à ses confrères, aux évêques du monde tout en déplorant tristement le peu d’intérêt que suscite son cas.
Il révèle qu’il y a eu des contacts entre ses ravisseurs affiliés à l’État islamique et le gouvernement indien mais que jusqu’à aujourd’hui rien n’a été concluant pour obtenir sa libération. Le père Uzhunnalil, très amaigri, pense que le fait de ne pas être européen pourrait être la cause du désintérêt de la hiérarchie ecclésiale envers lui. S’adressant directement au pape, le père salésien l’exhorte :
«Vous êtes le Saint-Père. En tant que père, s’il vous plaît, occupez-vous de ma vie. »
Il ne sait pas que François est très occupé à favoriser l’accueil des « migrants », mahométans de surcroît !
Ah ! Si Tom Uzhunnalil était musulman, immigré, réfugié, que ne feraient-ils pas pour lui, ces évêques et ce pape humanistes ! Mais ce n’est qu’un pauvre père de religion catholique…
