Selon le site Internet du Sénat, la France comptait au 1^er mars 2017 17.393 personnes sont inscrites comme « S » sur le FSPRT (Fichier de traitement des Signalements pour la Prévention de la Radicalisation à caractère Terroriste).  L’UCLAT (Unité de Coordination de la Lutte AntiTerroriste) les répartit ainsi :

– 7 400 individus signalés par les préfectures via les États-Majors de Sécurité (EMS) ;

– 5 346 individus signalés par le public via le CNAPR (Centre National d’Assistance et de Prévention de la Radicalisation) ;

– 5 799 objectifs inscrits par des services de police ou gendarmerie.

Par ailleurs, 2 046 individus ont été formellement identifiés sur une zone de combat en Syrie et en Irak et 249 individus présumés décédés ont été recensés.

Sur le plan géographique, on considère 7 niveaux :

• Les nids à terroristes (plus de 200 fichés S), 18 départements qui sont bien évidemment les plus cosmopolites : Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Gard, Haute-Garonne, Loiret, Nord, Pas-de -Calais, Bas-Rhin, Rhône, Lyon métropole, Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne et Val-d’Oise.
• Les 8 départements ayant plus de 150 fichés S et nids potentiels : Gironde, Hérault, Isère, Oise, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Tarn et Vaucluse ;
• Les 11 départements ayant plus de 100 fichés S où les faits-divers regorgent de noms exotiques : Aisne, Calvados, Drôme Eure-et-Loir, Loire, Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Haut-Rhin, Seine-Maritime et Var ;
• Les 30 départements ayant plus de 50 fichés S et dont les troubles se cantonnent généralement à la préfecture et sa banlieue : Ain, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Ardèche, Aube, Aude, Aveyron, Charente, Charente-Maritime, Côte d’Or, Côtes-d’Armor, Dordogne, Eure, Finistère, Gers, Ille-et-Vilaine, Indre-et-Loire, Landes, Loire-Atlantique, Lot-et-Garonne, Mayenne, Orne, Puy-de-Dôme, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées-Orientales, Haute-Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Sarthe, Somme, Tarn-et-Garonne,
• Les 18 départements tranquilles, plus de 30 fichés S, généralement ruraux : Ardennes, Ariège, Cher, Corrèze, Doubs, Indre, Jura, Loir-et-Cher, Haute-Loire, Lot, Maine-et-Loire, Manche, Haute-Marne, Vendée, Vienne, Vosges, Yonne et Territoire de Belfort
• Les 9 départements très tranquilles, en déclin ou ayant déjà leurs organisations terroristes locales et comptant plus de 10 fichés S : Allier, Hautes-Alpes, Corse-du-Sud, Haute-Corse, Meuse, Morbihan, Nièvre, Deux-Sèvres et Haute-Vienne
• Les 3 départements du désert français, oubliés de l’Etat et même des terroristes… avec moins de 10 fichés S : Cantal, Creuse et Lozère.
