L’Association « Sauvons l’église des Capucins », a été créée en 2013 lorsque le dernier Capucins est parti de son monastère Annécien et que la décision a été prise par l’Evêque d’Annecy de désacraliser et de vendre cette église et les bâtiments contigus.
La Mairie vient de faire détruire la grotte de Lourdes qui se trouvait sur le côté du bâtiment et retirer les statues.
L’association a pour volonté de rendre à cette église sa vocation première car la Mairie d’Annecy souhaite en faire une maison de quartier ou une salle d’exposition.
Aussi, plusieurs de ses membres se réunissent le soir pendant 9 jours consécutifs pour prier l’Immaculée Conception afin que cette église soit sauvegardée et que sa vocation première lui soit rendue.
Durant ces soirées de prière, de nombreux habitants du quartier viennent adresser leurs encouragements et dire leurs regrets de voir ce quartier perdre ce havre de paix qu’a apporté durant des dizaines d’années ce lieu de culte.
