Le 7 octobre au Texas, des chefs religieux probablement tous protestants sont venus bénir une clinique d’avortement en chantant Allelujah. Le personnel et les patientes ont aussi droit à une bénédiction. La clinique concernée fait des avortements tardifs comprenant le démembrement à vif de fœtus dans le sein maternel. Or un juge a reconnu cette pratique comme légale quoi qu’en soit la souffrance de l’enfant. D’où ces réjouissances « cléricales ». Cette clinique a très mauvaise réputation pour la qualité de ses soins et le peu de sureté donné aux malades. Elle a fait de multiples infractions, notamment par des fautes d’hygiène élémentaire et de matériel chirurgical mal stérilisé ; le tout ayant entraîné des infections graves. Ces « religieux » estiment que parmi les femmes qui se font avorter, il y a des croyantes notamment en situation de pauvreté. Elles mériteraient quelques bénédictions et encouragements.
Il n’y a au Texas que quatre avortoirs en activité en passe d’être fermés.
On ne peut qu’être sidéré de cette affaire. Tolérer puis encourager la mort de petits êtres humains dans des circonstances atroces est déjà insupportable pour l’esprit. Mais de là s’en réjouir…. L’horreur absolue.
