L’information est passée quasiment inaperçue au milieu de l’actualité du mois de juillet : plusieurs officiers du Hamas travaillaient au profit d’Israël…
Le mouvement palestinien Hamas a signalé à la mi-juillet que l’un
des officiers de sa marine s’était enfui en Israël après avoir fourni des renseignements à l’État hébreu.
Abou Mohammed, un porte-parole militaire du Hamas, a déclaré que l’espion était un officier subalterne d’une unité navale. Le responsable palestinien a ajouté que plusieurs officiers des services de sécurité intérieure de l’organisation étaient également accusés d’espionnage pour Israël.
La chaîne d’information saoudienne Al-Arabiya avait préalablement affirmé que l’officier et son frère s’étaient enfuis avec un ordinateur portable et du matériel de surveillance dans le cadre d’une opération de 72 heures conduite par le Mossad.
