Lors d’une veillée pour les victimes de la fusillade dans un centre commercial de Munich, un groupe de musulmans a interrompu ce moment de recueillement en criant «Allah Akbar» – «Allah est grand».
La scène, enregistrée sur vidéo, dégénère en quelques minutes. Pour empêcher la confrontation physique, la police a formé un cordon séparant jeunes musulmans perturbateurs et Allemands venus assister à l’hommage.
Les deux groupes ont échangé de nombreuses insultes, mais la police n’a pas procédé à des arrestations. Les Allemands ont cependant insisté pour que les agents agissent contre ces provocateurs musulmans. Mais un officier de police a expliqué qu’il ne pouvait rien faire.
Aucun des grands médias allemands n’a rapporté l’incident. Seul le quotidien italien Il Quotidiano Fato et le journal local Unser Tirol, ont signalé cet incident.
